Open Discussion Club, also titled Open Forum, also titled Design Criticism Club, is an on-campus group I founded to raise questions and have a dialogue on how to have a critical practice in school and in professional practice. The project was greatly inspired by Ben DuVall’s Discussion Group.
In addition, each weeks poster that was hung up around the school to advertise the discussion was designed by a different member. Some posters were purely formal or representational, while others brought up concerns / ideas / commentaries that were discussed in that weeks group.

The group also existed online, where each weeks conversation would be uploaded by best of my memory, transcribed and expanded on from the shorthand notes I would take during. The website acted as a similar setting to that of the physical environment of the group; each participating member was given the email and password information to access the blog and with this, they would be able to alter text, add additional text, change the theme, layout, background, etc. In hopes of creating an entirely hierarchy-free platform.
