The installation component to the book The Consensual Hallucination acted as a way to materialize, through physical metaphor, the core idea underlying the premise of the book, which was the relationship between non-fictional reality and the fictional word. Put another way, the influence of the fictional word onto the fabric of our reality. The object is comprised of a drawbot (made by Dan at Makelangelo) which transcribes fragments of cyberpunk fiction onto the reality which closely resembles it. Printed pages of real-life events that become an unending non-fiction, defaced; its meaning renewed by the overlay of the fictional word. Creating a dissonant harmony between two parallels that when converge, disrupt legibility and simultaneously intertwine meaning.
